Android N’s first leaked screenshot hints at new navigation drawer

Android N is expected to launch at Google I/O 2016 in May, could bring hamburger menus to everywhere

Google will officially announce about new Android N development at Google I/O in May but first screenshots from new mobile OS has already surfaced. The new screenshot gives first hint at what can change with the new OS.

The screenshot first spotted by Android Police has emerged from Google’s Android developer site making it highly legit than a leak. The screenshot reveals a new left hamburger button on the Bluetooth settings page which could give access to more options and navigation.

“Google has been adamant about developers making the drawer a constant across their apps, not something that’s accessible from one screen and not from another. But it wouldn’t be the first time it broke its own rules, so it could easily go with a navigation drawer that’s only accessible in settings sections and not the main screen,” reads Android Police report.

While Android N may have already started surfacing, Google would be interested to realise that not even handful of devices run the previous version Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Google should probably work on a method to seed latest OS to more devices faster.
