Apple Music

Apple Music arrives June 30th at 11AM Eastern, Beats 1 an hour later Determined to try Apple Music and its accompanying Beats 1 radio the very moment they're available on June 30th? The streaming service's senior director, Ian Rogers, is happy to help those early adopter impulses. He says that iOS 8.4 (and thus Apple Music)will be available at 11AM Eastern on that day, and Beats 1 will go on the air one hour later. It's not clear what you'll hear if you tune in to the station right away, but the first slate of programming will include an interview with Eminem as well as appearances from everyone from Cara Delevigne to (unsurprisingly) Beats brand co-founder Dr. Dre. And no, Apple hasn't forgotten about  iTunes Match  and streaming the songs you already have. Eddy Cue  notes  that Apple Music will not only share the feature, but expand on it -- the company is aiming to match up to 100,000 songs in your library (ve

WhatsApp Plus

WhatsApp Plus Latest APK Download Still Beats Original WhatsApp, Free Download Now Available WhatsApp Messenger is very addictive. This can be seen in the statistics that more than 800 million people use this app on a monthly basis, sending over 64 billion messages each day. Using WhatsApp, you can easily connect with friends from all over the world using voice calls and messages. The messages may include texts, videos, voice recordings as well as photos. More and more people are joining this platform, which is expected to reach over 1 billion users by the time the year comes to a conclusion. This is expected to be driven by the fact that the app is working on a new video calling feature as well as a way of bringing together all users from all other apps. Features of WhatsApp Plus latest APK As noted earlier, there are some features that WhatsApp users have been requesting for, but in vain. However, most of these features are

Google Fights Microsoft

Google Fights Microsoft With New Android Branding Along with a tweak in the application design guidelines, Google has updated its own applications for Android with a subtle graphical tweak to remind users just who the driving force behind the ecosystem actually is. Not only are splash screens now an acceptable part of Android design, Google is making immediate use of them in a defensive move against other cloud providers such as Microsoft. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is challenging Google in the cloud Opening the latest updates to its apps will result in a white screen and an oversized icon to be shown, along with the familiar Google corporate logo (reports  Tom Maxwell ). The changes are rolling out across the platform now through the automatic app updates through the Play Store, with the productivity apps of Google Docs and Google Sheets some of the earliest apps to show the Google emblazoned splash screen. Previous versions of Android discouraged this practice, and

Android M For LG G4

Android M For LG G4 May Result In Skipping Android 5.1 Lollipop LG fans recently learned that the South Korean tech giant will not be rolling out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. Now, it seems LG has no immediate plans to release Android 5.1.1 for its newest LG G4 flagship. The O2 carrier from the U.K. and LG Hellas have revealed that LG is not planning to roll out Android 5.1.1 for LG G4. It further claims that since LG is delaying or canceling the release of Android 5.1.1, it may allow users to directly upgrade to Android M. As of this writing, it is not known why it is not releasing the Android 5.1.1 update soon. NDTV  states that the South Korean smartphone maker has released many smartphones with Android 5.0 Lollipop in this year. However, it has not confirmed whether the handsets will receive the Android 5.1.1 or Android M update. In the past, LG had directly updated the LG G3 running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat to Andr

Apple Watch Vs. Android Wear

Apple Watch Competition: Android Wear Still Kicking You might be forgiven for thinking that the Apple Watch is the only smartwatch worth buying. But watches running Android Wear are alive, kicking, and getting better. With the Apple Watch seeing better-than-expected sales and tons of media exposure, Google is trying to keep pace with upgrades for Android Wear, which powers watches from Motorola, LG, Sony, and others. The most recent May update adds apps that are always on, they remain visible even when you drop your arm. The update also features quick access to apps by swiping, a new flick-of-the-wrist gesture to scroll between cards (snippets of information), as well as the ability to draw emojis as responses. There are also new heads-up notifications, like text messages that appear on screen even if you’re looking at something else. The LG Watch Urbane ($350) was the first to get the update, while the Motorola Moto 360 ($250) is getting the update now. Both the LG Wat

ANDROID MPH

Google’s self-driving cars are now on the streets of California “OK Google, drive me to work.” Google announced today that its panda-shaped self-driving cars are now puttering around the streets of Mountain View, California.  The cars can only travel 25 mph and will have drivers behind the wheel the entire time, for safety reasons—although the company has previously blamed humans for the accidents in which its cars have been. The driverless car team’s post on Google+ said that the cars will have “a removable steering wheel, accelerator pedal, and brake pedal that allow them to take over driving if needed.” Google’s modified Lexus and Toyota Prius self-driving cars have been on the streets for years, and have now racked up over 1 million miles of experience. The computational system that powered those cars is in Google’s purpose-built cars now driving around. 1 Although the cars will have drivers and steering wheels in them while they’re being tested, Googl

Only Two Reasons For Apple Watch

The only two reasons to buy an Apple Watch, for now The Apple Watch's biggest challenge is living up to its own hype. We cut through the euphoric Apple rhetoric and break down the two things it does best.  In its first month, the Apple Watch quickly became the best-selling smartwatch on the planet — even if that's not saying much yet. But, there are still plenty of people trying to decide whether it's worth getting one. There are only two reasons to buy an Apple Watch at this point. Let's break them down. 1. Better activity and health tracking The No. 1 reason to get an Apple Watch is better activity and health tracking. One of the biggest challenges of professional life is too much sitting and not enough movement. In addition to the negative health issues this can lead to, the benefits of both standing and walking have been widely reported in recent years. Both can help boost your creativity and productivity. Health trackers like the FitBit have helpe

Google Notifications

'Google Notifications' Panel Gets Filtering Options Before bits and pieces of Google+ departed from Google's web toolbar earlier this month, the bar's notification panel began labeling notifications according to their origin. G+ notifications for example got a Google+ icon, while notifications about a user's photo library got the Google Photos badge. Tonight it looks like Google is rolling out another change to the panel, adding a settings button which allows users to filter out G+, Photos, or YouTube notifications individually. Interestingly, not all sources appear for all users - it's unclear exactly how the panel knows which options to show, but it appears that the presence of Photos or YouTube options partially depends on whether you've opted to receive those notifications in the  Google+ settings . Blogger is also included in the "Post" notification settings on Google+, but - to our knowledge - it hasn't made an appearance in

Sony Xperia

Sony Releases Android M Developer Preview for 12 Xperia Devices Sony has shocked a few people this week, including myself, releasing an  Android M Developer Preview  build for a total of 12 Xperia devices. In a blog post, Sony goes over the importance of preparing for the official Android M launch, giving developers time to test apps and play with new APIs. To be exact, the Android M preview has been released for the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia E3, Xperia M2, Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia T3. In terms of device support, this is pretty impressive considering you don’t see any other OEM allowing for this.  Flashing Android M does not look to be overly complicated. All you will need to download is the file itself, binaries, and then verify your apps upon completion. Do note, Sony stresses that these builds are not meant for daily usage. You will need an unlocked bootloader,

Top Android News Of The Week

Top Android news of the week: HTC no sale, Samsung keyboard hack, new Snapdragon This week in Android came news that an updated Snapdragon processor will deal with overheating issues. We also heard evidence that Android One is a bust, and that a Samsung keyboard app exposes 600 million to malware ASUS TO ACQUIRE HTC, THEN NOT A rumor cropped up that Asus was looking to buy beleagured HTC. It didn't stand long as Asus CEO Johnny Shih quickly debunked it. He did so in the strongest terms, claiming his company "strongly denies the news". ANDROID ONE A BUST IN INDIA Google announced the Android One program last year that would supply sub-$100 phones in India. The plan was to flood the country with these low-cost phones. Months later it seems the program is a bust, with only 800,000 handsets sold in India. This is only a third of low-cost handsets sold since the Android One launch. SAMSUNG KEYBOARD APP PUTS 600M AT RISK A report has surfaced that indicates

Android Clock

Google launches Android Clock in Play Store Google  has launched another standalone Android app on the Google Play Store — its simple stock clock app for  Android , giving users another option for their time related activities. The app is available on the Play Store as of now, and it is called aptly enough just “Clock”. Anyone who has used the stock Android clock will find that it functions the same way with alarms, the stopwatch, a snoozing function, the ability to set a timer, and all those needed features. The move isn’t surprising given Google’s habit of releasing standalone apps and the clock’s longstanding popularity. It is the same minimalistic offering as you’ve likely seen on one of your Android devices (depending on what you've used), with different colors being used and items neatly arranged. Clock arrived in the Play Store on Thursday, and can be installed on devices running Android 4.4 and higher. It won’t take up much space at all, measuring in at only 6.6MB

Samsung Keyboard Bug

Samsung Keyboard Bug Leaves 600m Android Devices Exposed to Hackers A vulnerability in Samsung's Android keyboard installed on over 600m devices worldwide could allow hackers to take full control of the smartphone or tablet.   The security bug revolves around the update mechanism of the built-in keyboard, which looks for language updates for trending phrases either daily or weekly.   "The keyboard was signed with Samsung's private signing key and runs in one of the most privileged contexts on the device, system user, which is a notch short of being root," said researcher Ryan Welton from security company NowSecure who discovered the hole.   The problem was discovered last year. NowSecure told Samsung about the bug in December. Samsung asked NowSecure to keep the discovery under wraps until it could patch the problem. Google's Android security team was also notified.   However, six months on it is unclear whether the patch is out. Sams

Apple Watch Available

Apple Watch available at Apple Stores – at last Apple CEO Tim Cook speaks about the Apple Watch during an Apple event at the Flint Center in Cupertino, Calif., Sept. 9, 2014 Almost two months after the Apple Watch was released, consumers can finally walk into an Apple Store and buy one. That’s a big change from the tiny trickle of Apple Watches to a  single store  in the U.S. (Maxfield in Los Angeles) since April 24 when the first  online orders  were received by customers.  But that was by design. Until this week, Apple watch purchases were limited to online orders. But now select stores in select states in the U.S. are stocking the Watch and walk-in reservations can be made to pick up a watch same-day. A check of the Apple online store Wednesday evening shows, for example, that the $349 (38mm) and larger (42mm) $399 Sport models are available at Apple Stores in the Los Angeles area. As are $699 models (for example, 42mm Stainless Steel Case) of the higher-end Watch. An

Microsoft Lumia 940

Microsoft Lumia 940 Leaked Image Reveals Camera With Triple-LED Flash Windows Phone fans have been waiting for Microsoft to release a new flagship smartphone. The Lumia 940 is expected to be that device, and an image of its rear camera with triple-LED flash has just leaked. While Apple and Samsung battle it out in the high-end smartphone game, Microsoft has seen most of its success come from its mid-range and budget handsets. The Nokia Lumia 520, which was released in April 2013, had sold over 12 million units when Microsoft announced it was the company's best-selling smartphone and revealed sales numbers for the first time in July 2014. As Microsoft prepares to roll out its next desktop OS, Windows 10, on July 29, the company is also putting the finishing touches on its smartphone equivalent OS, Windows 10 Mobile. The updated OS is rumored to be released in September and will be able to run on any current Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone. It only makes sense that Microsoft

iOS Leak Reveals

iOS Leak Reveals 'Massive' New Apple Device [Updated] Massive leaks  are now common for every technology company, no matter how secretive. But it isn’t often that the leaks are literally for something ‘massive’… And yet this is exactly what app developer Steve Troughton Smith discovered buried deep inside Apple  AAPL   +0.42% ’s iOS 9 preview: a iOS keyboard specifically designed for a much larger device than anything that currently exists. How big? Right now it is impossible to say, but the keyboard can only be seen by using developer tools to set a virtual screen size in excess of even the iPad Air / iPad Air 2’s 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display. This means an iOS device closer to the size of a laptop than a tablet. Update: Troughton Smith has been back to say the new keyboard would require a native resolution of 2732×2048,  that’s almost double the total pixels of an iPad Air/Air 2. With Apple highly unlikely to make such a major leap on the Air 2 when the scree

Faster Access To Webpages

Google India to Offer Faster Access to Mobile Webpages for Android Users Technology giant  Google  on Thursday announced it would soon roll out optimised webpages for Google Search users on Android smartphones using the Chrome or Android browser. The feature, called which will also be made available in Brazil soon, will start rolling out in India in the next two weeks. The new feature, which was field tested in Indonesia last month, and is available only for smartphones, is designed to make mobile webpages faster and lighter when accessed from Google's search results. "We believe everyone should have fast and easy access to information online. However, many people still have slow and costly mobile connections. In two weeks, we'll start to roll out a new feature that will help pages load a whole lot faster, while using far less data, via Chrome or Android browser from Google's search results,"Google Search Product Manager Hiroto Tokusei told reporters via
